LOS ANGELES, June 25, 2009 - Premiere Radio Networks is proud to announce that Dawson McAllister Live has added its 100th affiliate with the addition of Z100 in New York. Beginning June 28, the program will air in the Sunday night 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. ET timeslot. This is a broadcasting milestone for the program which joined Premiere Radio Networks' lineup in July of 2007. In the last year, the program's audience has grown 50% (Source: Arbitron, FA'07 to FA'08, Nationwide, Exact Times, AQH, A 18-34) and it's ranked #1 in the following Top 50 markets: Philadelphia, Minneapolis, San Diego, Charlotte, Salt Lake, Orlando, Indianapolis, Oklahoma City and Memphis (Source: Arbitron, WI'09, MSA & PPM 3 Mo Avg, Exact Times, AQH, T 12-17).
"Dawson's dedication and passion for helping young people have made him a top choice among listeners across the country," commented Premiere Radio SVP of Affiliate Relations, Eileen Thorgusen. "It's truly a privilege to work with Dawson and we wish him continued success. I'd like to thank Z100 for marking this milestone with us."
Z100 Program Director, Sharon Dastur, commented, "When you meet Dawson in person and hear how much he cares about the youth of this country, and how he makes it a mission to help as many as he can, you can see how important it is to spread his message to your audience."
Dawson McAllister Live is a call-in show designed to meet the needs of teenagers and young adults. Those 25 and younger call to talk about their deepest needs and issues, such as broken families, abuse, depression, addiction, etc. However, this public service doesn't begin and end on Sundays. Since the show's inception in 1991, "HopeLine" (1-800-394-HOPE), a donor-funded, highly technical and strategically operated call center, supplements the radio show seven nights a week. It's staffed by trained callers who operate out of five call centers in Tennessee, South Dakota, Pennsylvania and Minnesota. They're trained to assist teens in need by offering them encouragement, hope and resources to better help them deal with their issues. Dawson McAllister Association is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. The radio show is certified by FCC Compliance Consultant Peter Fulton as Public Affairs programming for local stations.
